Washing And Care
Washing Instructions:

Cold-warm water only: Keep it gentle on the natural fibers (and save the high heat for your tea).

Turn inside out before washing: Protect that graphic so it lasts through years of regular wear and washing.

Use a clean, gentle detergent: This pure organic cotton loves a low-tox wash. Skip the harsh chemicals and heavy synthetic fragrances.

The first wash might bleed a little: Separate it from your light-colored linens for the first spin just in case.

Drying Instructions:

Skip the high heat: Line-drying or hanging dry is the gold standard for traditional fabric care—it prevents shrinking and preserves that premium soft texture perfectly.

Tumble dry low (Optional): If you’re short on time and use the dryer, keep it on low heat or delicates. (Pro-tip: Toss in a few wool dryer balls instead of conventional dryer sheets to keep things completely non-toxic and soft!)

Remove promptly: Shake the shirt out as soon as it’s dry to prevent wrinkles.

Additional Tips:

Ditch the bleach: Harsh chemical brighteners will break down organic cotton fibers and fade the gorgeous color. Stick to gentle solutions for stains.

Say no to fabric softeners: Conventional softeners coat natural fibers in synthetic films, stopping the cotton from doing its job (absorbing moisture and being breathable). Let the pure cotton breathe!

Protect the print: Never iron directly on the graphic design. Turn the shirt inside out or use a pressing cloth to protect the print.

FAQ's

Why won’t you sell products made of polyester?

Polyester is essentially a petroleum-based plastic. While it is common in the fashion industry, we view it as a "plastic bag" worn against the body. There are three primary reasons we exclude it:

  • Skin Absorption: Your skin is your largest, most porous organ. Polyester often contains BPA and phthalates used during manufacturing. When you move and sweat, friction causes these endocrine-disrupting chemicals to leach out of the fabric and directly into your bloodstream.

  • Hormonal Health: Research suggests that the synthetic chemicals in polyester can mimic or interfere with natural hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which can impact everything from mood to long-term fertility.

  • Environmental Impact: Every time polyester is washed, it sheds thousands of microplastics. These fibers are too small for water treatment plants to catch, leading them into our oceans, our food chain, and ultimately back into our bodies.
Why is recycled polyester especially harmful?

Many brands use "recycled polyester" (rPET) as a sustainability badge, but from a health perspective, it can actually be more problematic than virgin plastic.

  • Structural Weakness: To turn a rigid plastic bottle into a soft yarn, the plastic must be shredded and melted at high heat. This process weakens the molecular bonds of the plastic, making the fibers brittle. As a result, recycled polyester sheds more microplastics—and specifically smaller nanoplastics—which are more easily absorbed by the body.
  • A "Toxic Cocktail": Plastic bottles were never designed to be worn against human skin. They often contain antimony (a heavy metal) and other flame retardants. When these are recycled into clothing, those chemicals remain in the fibers.
  • Greenwashing: Using recycled plastic in clothing doesn't solve the plastic crisis; it just delays it. Eventually, that garment will still end up in a landfill, but in the meantime, it has released millions of micro-particles into your home and your skin. We believe true sustainability starts with natural, biodegradable fibers that work with human biology, not against it.
Why do you only sell 100% organic cotton, not just "100% cotton"?

"100% cotton" only tells you the type of fiber used, not how it was grown or treated. Conventional cotton is often called "the world's dirtiest crop" because it is grown and processed using a high volume of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and toxic dyes.

We only use GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic cotton blanks for three clear reasons:

  • Pesticide & Insecticide Residues: Conventional cotton uses more insecticides than almost any other crop in the world. While it only occupies about 2.5% of the world’s agricultural land, it accounts for roughly 16% of global insecticide use. These chemicals are designed to be toxic, and residues can remain in the fibers of a "100% cotton" shirt that sits against your skin.
  • Toxic Processing & Dyes: Standard cotton is frequently treated with harsh chemicals like formaldehyde (to prevent wrinkles) and heavy metal dyes. The GOTS certification is the only way to guarantee that no toxic chemicals were used at any stage—from the farm to the final stitch.
  • Skin Health & Absorption: Your skin is highly porous and absorbs what it touches. By choosing GOTS-certified organic cotton, we ensure your clothing is free from the synthetic neurotoxins and endocrine disruptors common in the conventional textile industry.

Essentially, we choose GOTS-certified cotton blanks because it is grown through natural biological processes rather than synthetic chemical ones. This ensures the final product is as clean and safe for your body as possible.
